Functional Responsibilities:

Positions are staffed to provide on-premises and GovCloud support for customers, workstation, server, network, encryption devices, cross-domain solutions, and hosted applications on-premises in in the AWS GovCloud. This role is focused on supporting the installation, configuration, monitoring (infrastructure, application health, and security), operations and management (O&M) of an on-premises infrastructure and hosted applications (on-premises and in the AWS GovCloud (Development, Pre-Production, and Production environments)).

The contractor shall:

  • Be a US citizen and have an existing Top-Secret government security clearance.
  • Manage and maintain Microsoft Active Directory and group policy objects (GPO);
  • Provide software quality assurance testing, evaluation, and acceptance of hosted applications prior to production deployment, to include documentation, such as test plans, use cases, and test results.
  • Respond to customer support technical assistance questions and troubleshooting, working as needed with the Government personnel (infrastructure, development, and external service providers).
  • Respond to security related data calls and provide requested evidence to support compliance to NIST SP 800-53 security controls to the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) and Government PM.
  • Support the Government’s effort to obtain and maintain an authority-to operate (ATO) and protect the security posture of the program systems and applications;
  • Ability to review and adhere to all Government policy directives (PD) and guides (PG) applicable to assigned duties.

Minimum/General Experience:

  • Six (6) years or more of experience installing, configuring (e.g., to be compliant with Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) and/or Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG), virtual private network (VPN) tunnels, virtual servers, etc.), troubleshooting, monitoring (e.g., Cacti), and providing O&M (i.e., patching and updating to current vendor supported firmware and software versions) for network equipment (e.g., Hewlett Packard (HP)), firewalls (e.g., Watchguard), servers (e.g., HP blade), storage area network (SAN), backup appliances (e.g., Dell), storage and workstations;
  • Experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, monitoring, and providing O&M (i.e., patching and updating to current vendor supported versions) and customer support for Microsoft Windows and Linux based operating systems, domain servers, web servers, proxy servers, load balancers, security vulnerability and compliance scanning tools (e.g.,, Nessus Pro, NMap, etc.), endpoint security, and database servers (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.).
  • Experience with scripting command line tools (e.g., Vim, Bash, PowerShell, etc.) to automate command tasks.
  • Experience with hardware and software management using software (e.g., PDQ).
  • Experience in developing and maintaining documented standard operation procedures (SOP) and configurations to support Information System Contingency Plan (ISCP) and Continuity of Operations (COOP) requirements.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • One (1) year of experience supporting, monitoring application health, and assisting programmers to troubleshoot applications hosted in the cloud (AWS preferred).
  • Experience supporting the migration of on-premises applications to a cloud environment.
  • Experience presenting change requests to the Configuration Control Board (CCB) for approval prior to making changes.
  • If requested, be able to attend CCB meetings with the Government as a subject matter expert (SME).
  • Ability to provide configuration and monitoring support for a cross-domain solution (e.g., ForcePoint High Speed Guard (HSG).
  • Experience running cable from networked device to switch/router.
  • Experience maintaining accurate and up-to-date technical Visio diagrams detailing interconnections and required information.

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Bachelor Applied Science (B.A.S.) Degree in Information Systems Technology or related field of study; comparable technical certifications; or in lieu of education, six (6) additional years of documented experience that addresses all requirements of the position.
